Sit, Stay & Wait is a professional, team-based pet care company serving Palm Beach and Broward County. We are currently expanding our team and hiring part-time W-2 employees who take pride in providing structured, high-quality pet care.

 

We are not a gig app. We are a growing company built on consistency, professionalism, and trust.

 

Who We’re Looking For

 

We are primarily seeking individuals with professional animal care experience.
 

Ideal candidates include:
• Veterinary Technicians
• Individuals who have worked in a veterinary hospital
• Kennel Assistants
• Dog Trainers
• Individuals with dog training experience (formal certification not required)
• Individuals who have worked in animal rescues or shelters
• Experienced pet care professionals

 

Experience working in structured, clinical, rescue, or training environments is strongly preferred.

 

Candidates who understand animal behavior, safe handling techniques, and structured care protocols will thrive in this role.

 

 

Schedule
 

This is a part-time employee position with hours based on client demand.

 

Our service hours are 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM daily.
 

We are specifically seeking candidates who have:
• Morning to midday availability (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Evening availability (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Overnight availability (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
• Weekend availability (partial or full-day coverage)

 

Additional early morning and mid-day availability is a strong plus.

 

Hours will vary week to week. Flexibility and reliability are essential.

Living locally allows for efficient scheduling and responsive client care.

• 100% of tips go directly to the team member providing care (typically $1–$5 per hour)

Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality care for dogs and cats
• Perform dog walks (20–60 minutes), feedings, and enrichment
• Administer medications when required
• Clean accidents and manage pet-related messes
• Scoop litter boxes and refresh water
• Send detailed visit reports using our mobile app
• Communicate clearly with clients and management
• Participate in required training and ongoing education
• Represent Sit, Stay & Wait professionally in clients’ homes and neighborhoods
• Support occasional local marketing and outreach efforts

 

 

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following:
• Pet care experience (professional, volunteer, or personal)
• Comfortable handling both dogs and cats
• Confident working with a variety of breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels
• Experience caring for senior pets or pets with medical or behavioral needs preferred
• Strong punctuality, reliability, and accountability
• Ability to work independently while following structured company policies
• Ability to walk briskly for up to 60 minutes
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb at least three flights of stairs
• Reliable personal transportation
• Newer smartphone required (TracFones are not compatible)
• Comfortable using mobile apps, scheduling software, and digital communication tools
• Ability to remain calm and professional in unexpected situations

Team members should expect:
• Walking dogs in all weather conditions
• Caring for senior pets and pets with special needs
• Cleaning accidents
• Managing schedule changes as client needs evolve

We provide thorough training on our systems, safety protocols, and care standards. You will also receive ongoing support from our administrative team.
