A Letter from the Founder
Hi, I’m Aaliyah—the founder of Sit, Stay & Wait.
My journey into pet care started long before this became a business. Growing up, I was always the one neighbors called to walk their dogs or watch their pets while they were away. What began as a small side job quickly turned into something I truly loved, and I continued caring for dogs, cats, and small animals throughout my school years. I was often the one bringing home lost pets, helping reunite them with their families, or assisting in finding them safe homes.
During my senior year of high school, I realized a traditional college path wasn’t the right fit for me. Instead, I chose to focus on personal development and hands-on experience. In 2020, I volunteered with a nonprofit called Eat Better Live Better, and later I worked with the sustainability department in downtown Delray Beach. I also joined a nonprofit called WiseTribe, where I helped with community outreach and programs in local schools. These experiences strengthened my passion for giving back, especially in areas related to community support, homelessness, and local outreach.
I officially founded Sit, Stay & Wait in 2021, and over the years, I’ve worked with pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. From energetic puppies to senior pets requiring extra attention or medication, each experience has helped me better understand what pets—and their owners—truly need.
At the same time, I was continuing to grow Sit, Stay & Wait—offering dog walking and overnight pet sitting to local families. In 2022, I had the opportunity to intern with AW Concierge, a property management and concierge company. That experience exposed me to the operational side of business, social media, client communication, and systems. I eventually worked my way up within the company, and everything I learned there helped shape how I run Sit, Stay & Wait today.
Beyond my work with clients, I’ve always had a strong passion for animal advocacy. Over the years, I’ve fostered pets for local rescues and helped place animals into loving homes whenever possible. Supporting animals in need and giving back to the community has always been an important part of who I am.
As the company expanded throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties, I realized that to provide the level of care and consistency my clients deserved, I needed to build a team. Today, Sit, Stay & Wait is a team-based pet concierge company focused on more than just pet sitting. My goal has always been to create a service that feels like an extension of you—where your pet’s routine is managed thoughtfully, and every detail is handled with care.
As we continue to grow, my focus remains the same: maintaining a high level of service, building strong systems, and creating an amazing team that delivers a seamless, elevated experience for every client we serve.
